Ingredients
| Ingredient | Quantity / Detail |
|---|---|
| Fresh asparagus | 1 bunch (preferably thick) |
| Bacon | 1 slice per asparagus spear |
| Black pepper | To taste |
| Olive oil (optional) | A few drops for brushing |
Preparation Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Wash the asparagus and snap or cut off the tough, fibrous base of each stalk.
- Take an asparagus spear and wrap it in a spiral with a slice of bacon, from the base to just below the tip.
- Place the wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet (parchment paper can be used).
- Sprinkle with a little black pepper. There is no need to add salt, as the bacon is already salty.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon is golden and crispy.
Recommended Sides
- Creamy mashed potatoes.
- Grilled steak cuts or filet mignon.
- Grilled chicken breast.
